The May 1st meeting is our Annual General Meeting and plant exchange. Doors open at 6pm, meeting starts at 6:30pm. Rollo center capacity is 65 people, come early for seating!!
Plant Sale/Plant Exchange Procedure
For the plant exchange, you can bring up to three plants to exchange, well settled into their pots, and properly labelled (name, light, care, eventual size). When you arrive, you will be directed to the deck off the lobby where volunteers will point you to the table set aside for each type of plant: annual, perennial, vegetable, herb, etc. AND, you will fill out a slip of paper with your name and # of plants you brought to put in the random draw container. If you have plants for the sale table, those go inside the small room, and again are sorted by type of plant. We have the same requirements re labelling, well settled into their container and any other helpful info (for tomatoes, for eg., Determinate or indeterminate, variety name, cherry or sauce type, etc) on the tag too.The plant sale will start as soon as the plants arrive. You know we can’t help ourselves….The plant exchange will take place after the annual board reports, the election of board members for the next year and the usual tips, tools, event notices parts of the meeting. Then names will be drawn from the slips you filled out and three people at a time will go out to the deck and select their plants based on how many they brought. We encourage you to select from a variety of the plants out there and not ‘three of a kind’.We suggest you bring a box to put your purchased and exchanged plants in and help keep the mess contained.
