Open Gardens:
We are looking for hosts, one Sunday per month May through August. Email gabriolagardenclub@gmail.com if you are interested in opening your gardens to members this season.
Book of the Month:
As we have not met in person for so long, we put out all of the new books and
magazines acquired in the last two years for members to sign out.
What to do in the March garden by Sue Dunn:
A comprehensive
list was provided to keep us on track.
Guest Speaker:
Red in the Garden and Red in the Mind
Our presenter was local plant aficionado and author Grahame Ware who provided a cheery and informative talk on Reds and Frenz – the joy of plants with red colouring – from pale pink through to deepest burgundy; planting with opposites; accompanied by stunning photos of the reds in his garden. Lots of information about new varieties of bulbs, tubers, perennials and annuals.
Door and Raffle Prizes:
We raffled two
great door prizes - $25 gift certificate to Wheel Barrel Nursery and the Plant
of the Month.
