Thursday November 1st Meeting

Our next meeting is Thursday November 1st

Join us for presenter Terri Perrin who will talk to us about Feng Shui for Outdoor Spaces.

Terri is certified as a Feng Shui Practitioner through Mount Royal College in Calgary Alberta and is a member of the Feng Shui Association of Canada and the International Feng Shui Association.  Terri now lives in Courtenay BC where she presents a variety of Feng Shui workshops.

The meeting begins at 7pm, remember to bring your own mug.

The October 4th meeting our guest speaker is Todd Carnahan, a conservation biologist from Wildsafe BC.  He will present 'Gardening with Native Plants' - touching on functional gardens for wildlife, preventing wildlife conflict and strategies for enhancing drought tolerance. The meeting begins at 7pm, remember to bring your own mug.

The September meeting is our first meeting of the season.  Renew your membership and join us to hear from speaker Dan Jason from Salt Spring Seeds.  Please note you can also renew your membership in advance by visiting the Gabriola Garden Club table at the Fall Fair on Sept 2nd.

May Meeting Summary

If you did not make it to the May meeting here is what you missed...

We held our annual general meeting, provided a financial report to the membership and confirmed our Executive for the upcoming year.  We also had our annual plant exchange which went very well and participants left happy with their exchange items.  There are several open gardens planned for May through August, members will be notified by email of the date, time and location.  Our next meeting will be Thursday September 6th.

Plants of the Month:
 
Western Wild Ginger (Asarum caudatum)

Western White Clematis (Clematis Ligusticifolium)

Purple Labrador Violet (Viola labradorica)
