October 3rd Meeting

Our next meeting is Thursday October 3rd.  Our guest speaker is Drew Zeller.   

Drew and his partner, Kayla, are fairly new to Gabriola. They are living at her family home on Degnan Bay.  They have been busy restoring the property and land, and have had a busy and successful year with their first market garden, Full Moon Farm.

Drew is an experienced Xerophile. He collects seed, propagates and grafts cactus, and also sells and ships them. Drew is looking forward to sharing his hobby with us in ways to inspire others to grow something new!

Drew will bring some display plants, mature plants, and different stages of seedlings. A few points he will talk about are germination, watering, sun exposure, temperatures, dormancy, pollinating, pest control, repotting and grafting.  He will bring some plants for sale as well.

Doors open at 6pm, and the meeting begins at 6:30pm at the Rollo Centre.  Capacity is limited to 65, first come first served.

Come and join fellow club members for a picnic lunch and refreshments.  Play yard games, talk gardening, and enjoy listening and dancing to live music performed by Tangled Roots.  

Let us revel in our joy of gardening.

 Our next in person meeting is September 2024.  May, June, and July we will be having Open Gardens for our members.  In August we will be having a Garden Party.  Reminders and notifications will be sent by email to all members. 

May 2nd Meeting

 Our next meeting is Thursday May 2nd, 6:30pm at the Rollo Centre.  We will be having our AGM and plant exchange.  The next in person meeting will be in September.  Over the summer we hope to see you at one of the Open Gardens!

April 4th Meeting

 Thursday April 4th our presenter will be Heather MacLeod who will share her knowledge of herbs and their culinary and medicinal uses.  6:30pm in the Rollo main room.

January 4th Meeting

 

The speaker at our January 4^th meeting is Lynn Bowerman who will be showing us how to prune our fruit trees. The meeting begins at 6:30 pm, doors open at 6.

December 7th Meeting

 The presenter for our December 7th meeting is Jayne Patrick who will be showing us how to make our seasonal decorations. The meeting begins at 6:30 pm, doors open at 6.
