November Meeting

Our next meeting is Thursday November 7th and our guest speaker is Jo Canning.  Vancouver Island will be greatly affected by our changing climate.  Master Gardener Jo Canning will discuss how the home gardener can keep their yards thriving by using some practical and proven techniques. She will review water-wise tips, cultivar selection, and hardscape installations that will mitigate the impact of climate change.

Jo-Ann Canning volunteers, teaches and speaks on sustainable gardening. Her practical approach is based on 20+ years gardening on Vancouver Island, Nova Scotia, the American Southwest and the UK. She has taught at clubs, horticultural societies, VIU, and Van Dusen Botanical Garden. Her articles and photographs have appeared in Canadian and USA magazines, and on the MGABC website.
